State Registrar & Notary Service
Ownership of land passes through a sale deed registered with the Sub-Registrar of the taluka under the Indian Registration Act. Stamp duty and the registration fee are paid before registration; the registered deed is then the title document you present for mutation, zoning, conversion and building permissions. Most buyers have an advocate draft and verify the deed.
